The Growing Minds - ages 5-8
Growing Minds Planner | Ages 5β8 π±
Growing Minds is a gentle organisation and wellbeing planner created especially for growing minds aged 5β8.
At this age, children are beginning to take on more independence β remembering what they need for school, completing small responsibilities and learning to understand their emotions. Growing Minds gives them a simple, visual place to practise these skills without making organisation feel like another chore.
Designed for all children, including neurodivergent minds, the planner combines everyday structure with emotional awareness and regulation in an age-appropriate, child-friendly way.
Inside, children are gently supported to:
- ποΈ Understand and organise their week with simple weekly planning
- β Set 3 achievable goals for the week
- π Remember school, homework and after-school activities
- π Recognise and communicate how theyβre feeling
- π§ Notice how their brain and energy feel, from calm and strong to busy, tired or overloaded
- πΏ Discover brain-break and regulation tools that might help them
- π Notice movement, rest, water and other everyday wellbeing needs
- π Reflect on what went well, what felt hard and what helped
- βοΈ Use Expression Pages to draw, doodle, write or simply have some space
- π Write down things that may feel easier to share on paper than say out loud
There are no perfect weeks and no expectation to fill in every box. Pages can be missed, plans can change and children can use as much or as little of the planner as they need.
The aim isnβt to create a perfectly organised child.
Itβs to gently help them build confidence, independence, emotional awareness and an understanding of what works for their own brain β skills they can carry with them as they grow.
Gentle structure for growing minds. π±
